Laurenti Dyogi, more known in the industry as Direk Lauren, is ABS-CBN's Head of TV Production and the Executive Producer of Pinoy Big Brother. In 2021, he also became the head of ABS-CBN's talent agency, Star Magic.
A renowned director in the Philippines, he has done various films and drama series over the past decades and has been working on ABS-CBN for over 20 years.
After years of being a film director, Lauren Dyogi started venturing into producing reality television shows in 2005, wherein he created a reality dating/loveteam search, QPids. That same year, Dyogi began producing Pinoy Big Brother and has been in control of the show since. His production of the debut season of Pinoy Big Brother started as an experiment and passion project. However, Pinoy Big Brother gained its popularity and success during its debut season and became one of the most popular TV shows in the Philippines ever since. During its earlier seasons, Direk Lauren often faced the media regarding issues and controversies in Pinoy Big Brother, familiarizing the viewers and fans with him as the head of the reality show.
Ever since Pinoy Big Brother began airing on television, most viewers have speculated that Dir. Lauren is Big Brother due to the uncanny similarity between his voice and Big Brother's voice. However, during an interview in 2011, he denied that he is Big Brother, ending the speculations by the fans for many years, and even described what the Filipino Big Brother looked like; taller than the average Filipino, has a fair complexion, and of medium build. Despite that, many still believe he's the unseen fatherly voice heard throughout the series.
In 2018, Director Lauren started a Youtube channel where he vlogged his daily activities in relation to his work in ABS-CBN. He also vlogged about Star Hunt auditions and often in connection to Pinoy Big Brother.
