Sergei Sergeyevich Bodrov (Russian: Сергей Сергеевич Бодров; December 27, 1971 – September 20, 2002), also known as Sergei Bodrov Jr., was a Russian actor who had lead roles in the films Brother, Prisoner of the Mountains, East/West and Brother 2.

Brother ( Russian: Брат, translit. Brat) is a 1997 Russian neo-noir crime drama film written and directed by Aleksei Balabanov. The film stars Sergei Bodrov Jr. as Danila Bagrov, a young ex-conscript who becomes embroiled with the Saint Petersburg mob through his criminal older brother.
Sergei Bodrov, Jr. was one of the first Russian actors I knew about. Around 1999, my local Fenton, Michigan, Blockbuster had Burnt by the Sun , East/West , and Brother on the shelves for a languishing Russophile teenager who had no access to the sounds of the Russian language.
Sergey Bodrov was a Russian actor and director who starred in Brother (1997) and Sisters (2001). He died in a glacier slide in 2002 while preparing to direct Messenger.
