Stephen was born in Port Gibson, Mississippi on April 26, 1981. His father was a preacher and mother was a worship minister. He spent most of his childhood life in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. He was home schooledup until the 9th grade when he began attending Oak Grove High School in Hattiesburg, Mississippi where he graduated in 1999.
Stephen began drumming at age 14 and his first professional gig was at age 16. Stephen's early professional gigs included stage shows, variety shows, dinner theaters, cover bands, original bands, and even performing drum set with the Mississippi Symphony Orchestra.
