Mar 1, 2023 · Tedd Smith, longtime pianist for the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA), passed away on Thursday, Feb. 23. Born in London, Ontario, in 1927, Smith joined the BGEA team in 1950 and served as its pianist for over five decades, most notably as accompanist to singer George Beverly Shea.

Tedd Smith, the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association’s pianist for 54 years, passed away on Feb. 23. Smith joined the BGEA team in 1950 and played in the Atlanta Crusade on Nov. 5, 1950, the first ABC nationwide broadcast of The Hour of Decision.
Tedd Smith was born in 1927 in London, Ontario, Canada. He was a composer, known for Time to Run (1973), Joni (1979) and No Longer Alone (1978). He died on 23 February 2023.
