Red Rider, later known as Tom Cochrane & Red Rider, is a Canadian rock band popular in the 1980s. While they achieved significant success in Canada, the band never had a song in the top 40 in the United States, although "Lunatic Fringe" from their second album, 1981's As Far as Siam, became popular on US album-oriented rock radio.
Tom Cochrane and Red Rider is the fifth studio album by the Canadian rock band Tom Cochrane & Red Rider, released in 1986 [1] The album earned Cochrane two Juno Awards for Composer of the Year and Group of the Year. A remastered version was released by EMI in 2004.

Mar 15, 2011 · Tom Cochrane & Red Rider. Toronto rock band, active 1976-90. Formed by the guitarist Ken Greer and others, it was initially active in local clubs such as the El Mocambo. Tom Cochrane (singer, songwriter, guitarist, b Lynn Lake, Man, 14 May 1953; D MUS (Brandon) 2005) joined in 1977.
Within and without Red Rider, Tom has released 17 albums. Having helped shape the musical landscape for future generations of Canadian artists, Tom remains one of only 3 male Canadian singer songwriters to have a diamond certified album in Canada (over a million copies sold).
