Bernd Lange (born 14 November 1955) is a German politician who has been serving as a member of the European Parliament from Germany. He is a member of the Social Democratic Party, part of the Party of European Socialists. Lange was a member of the European Parliament from 1994 to 2004.

Bernd Lange (* 14. November 1955 in Oldenburg i. O. ) ist ein deutscher Politiker ( SPD ). Lange war von 1994 bis 2004 Europaabgeordneter in der sozialistischen/sozialdemokratischen Fraktion; seit der Wahl 2009 ist er erneut Europaabgeordneter in der Fraktion der Progressiven Allianz der Sozialdemokraten im Europäischen Parlament .
Professional career. 1983-1994 : Secondary-school teacher at Burgdorf ‘Gymnasium’. 1994-2004 : Member of the European Parliament. 2005-2009 : Head of the economics, environment and European affairs section of the German Trade Union Federation for the Lower Saxony-Bremen-Saxony/Anhalt region.
