Wolfgang Zeller was born on 18 September 1893 in Biesenrode, Mansfeld, Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. He was a composer and actor, known for Goal in the Clouds (1939), Vampyr (1932) and Prix de beauté (Miss Europe) (1930). He died on 11 January 1967 in Berlin, Germany.

Oct 29, 2021 · He worked very closely with the innovative film composer Wolfgang Zeller who carefully coordinated the music with the sound effects and the dialogue. Zeller’s music is impressionistic in style, more atmospheric than dramatic, and its subdued but insistently menacing tone contributes powerfully to the film’s disquieting ambience.
Zeller scored many documentary films as well, the most important of which was Bernhard Gzimek’s Serengeti darf nicht sterben, which won the Oscar for Best Documentary in 1960. Wolfgang Zeller died in West Berlin on January 11, 1967. His papers are at the Deutsches Filminstitut in Frankfurt am Main.
