Javier García, also known as Javi, is the main protagonist of Telltale’s The Walking Dead: A New Frontier. He is former professional baseball player, that Javier's life fell apart prior to the outbreak with the destruction of his career - which he kicked out from game - and him not being there when his father was ill, which caused a strain in his relationship with his family upon his father's death.
He is voiced by Jeff Schine, who also voices Carlos Oliveira in Resident Evil 3 remake, Chris Redfield in Resident Evil Village, Frank Aiello in Call of Duty: WWII, and Captain America in Marvel's Avengers.
Javier was first seen during the initial beginnings of the outbreak. He was on the highway desperately trying to get to his parent's family home, having heard his father was dying and he was needed. Then, he ditched his car and sprinted all the way to the home, arriving only to find his brother David on the porch who drinking cans of beer. David subsequently revealed to Javier that their father had died shortly before he arrived as much Javier's for and apologizes for being late before his brother punch him in his face as he berate him for not bring their and putting his baseball career before his family. Before he could punch him more, Gabe, David's son, came outside and asked what they were doing. Suddenly Mariana brings a glass of water for her grandfather, to which her grandmother replies that apparently he no longer needs it, Mariana tells everyone that he is awake, they all follow the girl to the room, where Hector, seeing that his father is alive tries to approach but he pushes him drastically against the closet to attack him, David and Javier quickly immobilize him, where his mother tells them to leave him alone since she says he is just scared, Javi's father hurts her seriously which causes him to break the bedpost to crush his head, after he had died once and for all, David decides to take his mother to the hospital for her injuries while Javi takes Gabe, Kate, Mariana and Hector in his truck without knowing that the last one had a scratch from a Walker.
In the present, Kate and Javier are observing a horde of Walkers through their binoculars, so they decide to drive away in the van from that place. In the car, Kate lights up a joint of marijuana while they talk about their relationship and death. of Hector since he was infected, after a long conversation they notice that the truck is out of gas, so they decide to go into an abandoned junkyard to see if they can find some, in addition to Javier agreeing with Mariana to give him a bar of chocolate, if you can find it.
After searching a lot, Javier finds an abandoned mobile home where he decides to enter and decide whether to stay or not regardless of the decision. Max and Lonnie ambush Javier, which causes him to be taken away in a truck driven by Rufus, while Gabe, Kate and Mariana they end up leaving the place.
Javier is apparently trapped, until a tree falls out of nowhere and stops the truck, which makes Rufus try to escape due to the impact, in addition to the fact that he lost his gun and Javi is pointing it at him regardless of the decision of whether to leave him with life or not Javi decides to make a deal with Clementine to help him look for his family in exchange for the truck and she accepts which makes them travel to Prescott's land.
When they are going to enter Prescott, Clem and Javi face the surrounding walkers to be able to enter according to Tripp's orders. They are invited past Prescott and Javier meets several people along the way, while Clem wants to fix his gun since bullets are constantly jamming. When Clementine gets angry with one of the dealers because she wanted to swindle her, Javi rushes to the scene, where he ends up with Eli with a self-inflicted headshot when testing the weapon. Javier covers up for Clementine, causing them to be locked up in jail where Eleanor, a Prescott doctor, agrees to treat Javi's wounds until he confesses the truth about what happened. Javier confesses and requests help from Tripp and Prescott to look for his family, which I end up leaving it in the junkyard which they accept. Arriving at the deposit Javier finds his family but they are ambushed by the new border which ends up killing Mariana with a shot to the head.
In this second episode, Javier and Clementine finish off the members of the new frontier, while Kate is rushed to Prescott. Javier and Clementine arrive in Prescott, but the lair is invaded by other members of the new frontier led by Badger and Max who take Francine hostage when they see that they do not want to open their doors, they bring a truck that destroys them and allows several walkers and members. from the new frontier they enter forming complete chaos where Clementine, Javier, Tripp, Conrad, and others manage to escape.
Leaving the area, they all plan to go to Richmond to look for supplies until on the way they meet Jesus who guides them to a faster path through some abandoned train tunnels, while passing through the wagons, Conrad sees the mark of Clementine's new Frontier which makes Javier doubt whether to get rid of Conrad so that he doesn't count or just let him go talk.
In this episode, Kate and Gabriel enter with David, while Javier, Tripp, Eleanor and Jesus stay in the quarantine of the new frontier to check if they have any cuts or scratches.
After a while David takes his brother out, they have a conversation about what has happened so far and introduces him to Ava with whom Javier socializes talking about baseball, then David calls Javier and takes him to the hospital where Kate fakes pain abdominal to be able to talk to Javi alone and tell him that he wants to escape from that place.
After the visit to the hospital, David takes his brother to the cathedral where he introduces Joan, the leader of the new frontier. She tells him the story of how the group was formed, but in the middle of the conversation, several people accuse Javier of acts that are quite questionable who completely break the rules of the compound, so he is exiled from the cathedral and put back in quarantine.
Ava helps Javier to escape to the group making them retreat to the forest and have a long conversation until a confrontation with walkers in which Clementine saves Javier's life, on the way Clementine tells Javier how she hates David for how made him get away from Alvin Jr. Upon arrival they find a warehouse full of walkers, which Javier and Clementine clear until they are inside the warehouse where they discover that David attacks Badger and his men, Javier arrives to help and chases Badger when he tries to escape which causes a fight where Badger taunts at Mariana's death all this causes Javier to get so angry that he kills him with his very own baseball bat.
David is taken out by Joan, while Javi is taken out by Gabe who takes him to Eleanor to plan weapons looting together with Ava which they achieve in addition to getting help from Dr. Lingard to know the location of Alvin Jr. After that, Javier sets out to steal a truck together with the group, which he achieves and they put Kate behind the wheel, o...
After what happened, Kate appears and kills a walker, which confirms that she didn't die, then the group goes to a nearby building to take refuge, where they save Fern, but David, seeing that she tries to attack Kate, breaks her arm and he kills Rufus which makes everyone furious, and David flees to the roof where he talks to Javi about what happened. After that, the whole group passes through the propellers of a helicopter to reach the other side except Tripp that falls into the void, David and Javier have another fight where in the end they take Gabriel and originate the following endings:
