John Arthur Antrobus (born 2 July 1933) is an English playwright and screenwriter. He has written extensively for stage, screen, TV and radio, including the epic World War II play, Crete and Sergeant Pepper at the Royal Court.

Jul 2, 2023 · Happy birthday to John Antrobus, 90 years old today (born 2nd July 1933, and living well in Chelsea, sometimes in Nice but, seemingly, always working). As a scriptwriter, John collaborated in 1957 with Spike on two Series 8 Goon Shows, The Spon Plague and The Great Statue Debate.
John Antrobus remembers the strange days of Associated London Scripts. It was an inauspicious, and unlikely, birthplace for some of the finest comedies this country has ever produced.
