"When You Wish Upon a Star" is widely considered as the signature song of The Walt Disney Company and is often used as such in the production logos at the beginning of many Disney films since the 1980s.

The 12th Academy Awards ceremony, held on February 29, 1940 by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), honored the best in film for 1939 at a banquet in the Coconut Grove at The Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles. It was hosted by Bob Hope, in his first of nineteen turns as host.
The soundtrack won an Academy Award for Best Original Score, and the song "When You Wish Upon A Star" won the 1940 Academy Award for Best Original Song and has become Disney's official anthem. In 2015, a Legacy Collection edition of Pinocchio was released.
