Patrick Kehoe's research focuses on international macroeconomics. Recently, he has focused on developing business cycle models that quantitatively account for the Great Recession and developing optimal bailout policies during such downturns.

Patrick has been affiliated with the Bank since 1986, and has served as a Monetary Advisor since 1997. He is also the Frenzel Professor of International Economics at the University of Minnesota. Patrick received his B.A. in Mathematics and Russian from Providence College in 1978 and his Ph.D. in Economics from Harvard University in 1986.
