Byron Eric Kennedy (18 August 1949 – 17 July 1983) was an Australian film producer known for co-creating the Mad Max series of films with George Miller.

Byron Eric Kennedy (1949-1983), film producer, was born on 18 August 1949 in Melbourne, elder child of Victorian-born parents Eric James Kennedy, engineer, and his wife Lorna, née Flynn. Byron was educated at Footscray High School and began making films with an 8-mm camera.
