Gordon Irving Kaye (7 April 1941 – 23 January 2017), known professionally as Gorden Kaye, was an English actor, best known for playing womanising café owner René Artois in the television comedy series 'Allo 'Allo!.

British actor Gordon Kaye, in character as Rene from the TV series 'Allo 'Allo. Kaye was born in Huddersfield, in the West Riding of Yorkshire, the son of a truck driver. He got his start working at a local hospital radio station, and later radio drama in Manchester.

Set in German-occupied France during the Second World War, ’Allo ’Allo! first emerged as a parody of an earlier series, the wartime drama Secret Army (1977-79).
