Diandrea Rees [1] (born February 7, 1977) is an American screenwriter and director. [2] [3] [4] She is known for her feature films Pariah (2011), Bessie (2015), Mudbound (2017), and The Last Thing He Wanted (2020).
Dee Rees is a filmmaker who has directed and written acclaimed movies such as Pariah, Bessie and Mudbound. She is the first Black woman nominated for an Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay and has won numerous awards and honors for her work.
