Daniel Robert Odier (born 17 May 1945 in Geneva), is a Zen master, Chan master, writer, poet, screenwriter and essayist, specialist in Kashmir Shaivism. Praised by Anaïs Nin as "an outstanding writer and a dazzling poet," he is also a spiritual teacher of Eastern religious traditions, especially Tantra .
Encouraging great freedom, while rejecting dogmas, beliefs, certainties, and even the posture of " Master " (the Spanish translation of one of his books has neen aptly titled: "Adiós Guru!"), Daniel is very close to his students and directly introduces them to the nakedness of the heart-mind nature.

He received the teaching of Dzogchen. That same year, he became the disciple of Kalu Rinpoche, followed his teaching and received the transmission of Mahamudra.
