Leonard Niehaus (June 1, 1929 – May 28, 2020) [1] was an American alto saxophonist, composer and arranger on the West Coast jazz scene. He played with the Stan Kenton Orchestra and served as one of Kenton's primary staff arrangers. [2]
Lennie Niehaus (1929–2020) Leonard Niehaus was an American alto saxophonist, composer and arranger on the West Coast jazz scene. His father, a Russian immigrant, was a violinist in an orchestra accompanying silent films. Niehaus began playing alto saxophone and clarinet and composing.
