George Tobias (July 14, 1901 – February 27, 1980) was an American character actor. Born to a Jewish family in New York, he began his acting career at the Pasadena Playhouse in Pasadena, California. He then spent several years in theater groups before moving on to Broadway and, eventually, Hollywood.
George Tobias was born in New York City in 1901. He made his way to west coast in the 30's and the movies. He was a regular foil to James Cagney. He appeared in 62 feature films and 32 TV series. His most noted role as the noisy neighbor in Bewitched, a comedy series on television in the 60s.
