Alan Fernand Badel (/ b ə ˈ d ɛ l /; 11 September 1923 – 19 March 1982) was an English stage actor who also appeared frequently in the cinema, radio and television and was noted for his richly textured voice which was once described as "the sound of tears".
British thespian Alan Badel came to prominence after graduating from RADA a Gold Medal winner. He made an almost instant impact on the stage in both modern and classical roles. One of his first critically acclaimed performances was as Romeo, opposite Claire Bloom 's Juliet at the Old Vic.
