Basil Ruysdael was an American opera singer, radio announcer, and character actor. Birth and Youth. Basil was born 24 Jul 1878, in Jersey City, New Jersey. He was the son of Dr. Charles F. Millspaugh and his wife Mary Louisa (Spaulding) Millspaugh. [1] .
