Angela Schanelec (German: [aŋˈɡeːla ˈʃaːnəlɛk]; born 14 February 1962) is a German actress, film director and screenwriter. Her film Places in Cities was screened in the Un Certain Regard section at the 1998 Cannes Film Festival.

The actor, scriptwriter and director Angela Schanelec became professor of narrative film at the HFBK Hamburg in 2012. Schanelec studied drama at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Frankfurt am Main from 1982 to 1984.
