PATRICK TAM began first as a TV director. In 1978, he turned to directing features, such as THE SWORD, LOVE MASSACRE, NOMAD, CHERIE, FINAL VICTORY, BURNING SHOW, and MY HEART IS THAT ETERNAL ROSE which earned him the reputation of "The Father of 'La Nouvelle Vague'" in Hong Kong Cinema.
In 1975, he became a director and a scriptwriter, and made the well-known artistic dramas such as ''CID'' and ''Seven Women''. One of the episodes titles ''The Star Map'' in his TV work ''Wonderfun'' even won the Silver Medal in International Film and TV Festival of New York.
Patrick Tam was born on 25 March 1948 in Hong Kong. He is a director and editor, known for After This Our Exile (2006), Septet: The Story of Hong Kong (2020) and Love Massacre (1981).
