Oct 21, 2023 · Gimpo International Airport (GMP) is an international airport located on the western edge of Seoul handling most of the domestic flights within Korea. Gimpo was the main airport of Seoul before being replaced in 2001 by the more modern and larger Incheon International Airport.
Gimpo Airport, located in Seoul is a hub for both international and domestic flights, so it is a place that many people visit for domestic travel such as Jeju Island and Busan. Up until 2001 Gimpo Airport was the main airport servicing Seoul and South Korea, before being replaced by Incheon International Airport as the main airport. Today it is the third largest airport in South Korea, after Incheon and Jeju International Airport.
