A short walk across the train tracks from Uminonakamichi Seaside Park stands the Marine World Uminonakamichi, an aquarium which focuses on the aquatic life found around Kyushu. The aquarium's main tank is a huge, seven meter deep pool filled with all different kinds of marine life including over 120 sharks of 20 different varieties.
Numerous exhibits allow you to observe marine life up close. Centered on the theme of the Tsushima Current, 30,000 specimens of marine life consisting of 450 different species are on display here. Must-sees include the massive sharks that roam the large tank and the dolphin and sea lion shows.
