John Joseph Havlicek (often nicknamed Hondo) (/ ˈ h æ v l ɪ tʃ ɛ k / HAV-lih-chek; April 8, 1940 – April 25, 2019) was an American professional basketball player who spent his entire career with the Boston Celtics of the National Basketball Association (NBA).
John Havlicek was a Hall of Fame small forward and shooting guard who played 16 seasons for the Boston Celtics. He won eight NBA championships, 11 All-NBA selections, and was the MVP in 1964 and 1974.
