Ara Güler (Armenian: Արա Կիւլէր; 16 August 1928 – 17 October 2018) was an Armenian-Turkish photojournalist, nicknamed "the Eye of Istanbul" or "the Photographer of Istanbul". [1] [2] [3] He was "one of Turkey's few internationally known photographers".
Born on 16th August 1928, Ara Güler is a Turkish photojournalist, also known as Istanbul's Eye. He studied at Getronagan Armenian High School. His father owned a pharmacy, but had many friends that belonged to the world of art.
Oct 18, 2018 · Ara Güler, a native of Istanbul, began his photographic career at the city’s Yeni Istanbul newspaper in 1950. He went on to work for the Turkish daily, Hürriyet , and from there toward work for international titles and worldwide acclaim.
Ara Güler, 1928'de İstanbul 'un Beyoğlu ilçesinde, Mıgırdiç Ara Derderyan adı ile, Ermeni bir ailenin oğlu olarak dünyaya geldi. İsmini “yakışıklı Ara” olarak bilinen Ararat Kralı Ara Geghetsik’ten, göbek adınıysa dedesi Mıgırdiç'ten alır.
