Federico Faggin ( Italian pronunciation: [fedeˈriːko fadˈdʒin], Venetian: [faˈdʒiŋ]; born 1 December 1941) is an Italian-American physicist, engineer, inventor and entrepreneur. He is best known for designing the first commercial microprocessor, the Intel 4004.

Federico Faggin is a semiconductor engineer and entrepreneur who co-developed the world's first microprocessor, the 4004, in 1971. He received the 1997 Kyoto Prize in Advanced Technology for his contribution to the creation of new industries and the progress of modern society.
