Michael Brian Schiffer (born October 4, 1947, in Winnipeg, Canada) is an American archaeologist and one of the founders and pre-eminent exponents of behavioral archaeology.

Biography. Michael Brian Schiffer, an archaeologist, graduated with a B.A. in anthropology from UCLA in 1969 and earned his graduate degrees from the University of Arizona (M.A. 1972, Ph.D. 1973). From 1975 to 2014, he served on the faculty of the University of Arizona, most recently as the Fred A. Riecker Distinguished Professor.
