Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute ( SRFTI) is a film and television institute located in Baghajatin, Kolkata, West Bengal, India. Named after Indian filmmaker Satyajit Ray, the institute provides higher and professional education and technical expertise in the art and technique of film-making and television production.
The college has been named after the legendary film maestro Satyajit Ray and the institute has emerged as a national centre of excellence which offers post graduate programs in Cinematic studies. The college falls under the ministry of Information and Broadcasting Government of India.
The Alumni of Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute have been successful in making the Institute’s presence felt in every aspect of the world of Indian cinema. Directors, cinematographers, editors, and sound recordists and designers have consistently won prestigious awards nationally and internationally in all major film festivals.
Named after legendary film master Satyajit Ray, the institute offers undergraduate programs in film studies and has become a center of national expertise. The admission process includes a nationally held Joint Entrance Test (JET) and subsequent orientation/interviews.
