The Virginia Tech College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences combines the wide-ranging intellectual exploration of the liberal arts with the technological advantages of a leading university and the civic engagement of a land-grant institution.
The College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences at Virginia Tech comprises two schools, 12 departments, and three ROTC programs. The college also has connections to research facilities and local community service organizations through which students can earn experience in major related fields and has many study abroad programs.
The College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences offers baccalaureate degrees encompassing the humanities and human and social sciences.
Liberal Arts and Human Science (LAHS) Introduces first-year Liberal Arts and Human Sciences majors to the universitys research mission and the scope and nature of research within the disciplines in the college. Prepares students to participate in the universitys research mission through undergraduate research.
On a crisp and clear day in October 2018, the Facilities Department completed a full renovation of the newly named College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences Building. On April 30, the college will celebrate its official reopening at an event open to the entire Virginia Tech and Blacksburg communities.
