MSU awarded its first master’s degree in 1902 and its first doctoral degrees in 1956. The Graduate Division was created in 1948 and the name was changed to the Graduate School in 2010. MSU offers 69 master’s degree options, including three education specialist degrees, 45 doctoral degree options and a variety of certificates.
