From 1985 to 1993, Mats Ek took over as artistic director of the Cullberg Ballet and served up other reinterpretations of the classics: Swan Lake (1987), Carmen (1992), and Sleeping Beauty (1996). He also created his own pieces, characterized by parallel narratives and humour.
