Hiromasa Yonebayashi (米林 宏昌, Yonebayashi Hiromasa, born July 10, 1973, in Nonoichi, Ishikawa, Japan), nicknamed Maro (麻呂), is director of The Secret World of Arrietty and When Marnie Was There, and animator for various Studio Ghibli.
Together with Ghibli producer Yoshiaki Nishimura, Yonebayashi left Studio Ghibli in December 2014 after 18 years, and established Studio Ponoc in June 2015. His first film as Director at Studio Ponoc is Mary and the Witch's Flower.

Hiromasa Yonebayashi (born 1973 in Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan), nicknamed Maro, is a Japanese animator and director for Studio Ghibli. Making his directing debut with them in the film The Borrower Arrietty, he became the youngest director of a Studio Ghibli film.
In 1996 Yonebayashi joined Studio Ghibli and worked as an animator on Princess Mononoke (1997) and My Neighbors the Yamadas (1999), and as Key Animator for Spirited Away (2001), The GHIBLIES (2002), Howl’s Moving Castle (2004) and Ponyo (2008).
