  2. Carnegie Hall, originally the Music Hall, was constructed between 1889 and 1891 as a venue shared by the Oratorio Society of New York and the New York Symphony Society. The hall was owned by the Carnegie family until 1925, after which Robert E. Simon and then his son, Robert E. Simon Jr., became owner.

    Carnegie Hall first opened its doors in 1891.     With more than 400 archival treasures on display, the Rose Museum is open to the public Monday through Saturday, 11 AM–4:30PM as the Hall’s schedule permits, and is open to ticket holders one hour before events in Stern/Perelman. Visit carnegiehall.org/museumfor online exhibits and additional information.
