Daniel Paul Collins (born 1963) is a United States circuit judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit . Early life and career. Collins earned his Bachelor of Arts, summa cum laude, from Harvard College. [1] . He received his Juris Doctor from Stanford Law School in 1988, where he served on the Stanford Law Review.
Biography. Collins, currently a partner at Munger, Tolles & Olson LLP, earned his A.B. from Harvard College in 1985 and J.D. from Stanford Law School in 1988. He was a law clerk to Judge Dorothy W. Nelson on the Ninth Circuit from 1988–1989 and then clerked for Justice Antonin Scalia on the Supreme Court from 1991–1992.
Daniel P. Collins is a judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit. On November 13, 2018, President Donald Trump (R) nominated Collins to a seat on this court. The U.S. Senate confirmed Collins' nomination by a 53-46 vote on May 21, 2019. He received commission on May 22, 2019.
