Overview. The Sanders family is shaken when their matriarch, Pamela Sanders, suddenly dies. Cameron Sanders Sr. grieves while being investigated by the SEC. His sons search for answers but one soon spirals out of control, while his daughter finds solace in the arms of her cousin's husband.
Synopsis. David Dickson is a wealthy plantation owner in antebellum Georgia who fathers Amanda by raping one of his slaves, Julia. Julia relinquishes Amanda to the Dicksons, realizing that her baby will be raised free because she was born with fair skin.
This historical drama, based on a true story, is set in Georgia in the mid-1800s. David Dickson (Sam Waterston) owns a large plantation, as well as a number of slaves who do the labor required to run it.
