When Captain Lief Erickson finds a baby abandoned in a lifeboat on his ship, he abducts a waterfront prostitute, Singapore Sal, to care for the child; despite her outrage, Sal takes pity on the little tyke and manufactures a bottle for him out of an empty whisky bottle and the finger of a rubber glove.
