Notes from Underground (pre-reform Russian: Записки изъ подполья; post-reform Russian: Записки из подполья, Zapíski iz podpólʹya; also translated as Notes from the Underground or Letters from the Underworld) is a novella by Fyodor Dostoevsky first published in the journal Epoch in 1864.
NOTES FROM UNDERGROUND (Watch Online) This is my adaptation of the seminal Dostoevsky novella, updated and relocated from 19th Century St. Petersburg to contemporary Los Angeles. The Underground Man uses a video camera as a confessional tool to reflect back on the most painful experience of his life, his one chance at love.
Adapted from Dostoevsky's novella, Henry Czerny plays the narrator, Underground Man. Filled with self-hatred, he keeps a video diary where he discusses his own shortcomings and what he thinks is wrong in contemporary society.
