3. Litter Box Training. An important element of newborn kitten care is litter box training. Cats aren't born knowing where to go to the bathroom, so if mama cat isn't there to help, it's up to you. Let her examine the box to familiarize her with its placement and purpose. In place of cat mom, you may need to stimulate her urine or bowel movement.
