Mildly funny at times, but The Admiral's Secret struggles whenever Gwenn is off-screen, and Guy Newall's direction is uninspired to say the least. A stagey, sporadically funny comedy of a fabled jewel, the British admiral who appropriated it, and the rival teams of Spaniards trying to steal it back.
