- The cast. Supervention 2 offers a true smörgåsbord of shredding, with a cast that covers every aspect of the freeski, freestyle and freeride world. From living legends Terje Håkenson and Aksel Lund Svindal to hot young talents like Marcus Kleveland and Øystein Bråten, Supervention 2 is a who’s who of Scandinavian superstardom.
- The storyline. We’re kidding. Hollywood movies are for storylines, ski and snowboard movies are all about the action. But in the case of Supervention 2, the documentary approach makes for an interesting side dish to the main course, giving us a more in-depth-than-usual look at the willpower and motivation it takes to conquer risk, fear and injuries on the cutting edge of the sport.
- The cameras and locations. In a genre that’s pretty much defined by its breathtaking scenery and gratuitous use of drones and slow-motion footage, it’s not easy to make a ski/snowboard movie that’s notable for its locations and cinematography.
- That loop. Jesper Tjäder set the internet on fire when he stomped the first ever rail loop back in December of 2016, and it’s well worth watching Supervention 2 for this alone: not for the stomp itself, but for the appreciation you’ll feel for the long and painful journey Tjäder went through to do it.
