- Tiong Bahru Bakery Safari – African wilderness vibes. Image credit: Eatbook. Think “Tiong Bahru Bakery” and your immediate association is probably their famous buttery croissants, but their Dempsey outlet is actually styled after a safari tent amidst sprawling trees and bushes.
- Bright Hill Temple – Grand Shaolin-like Chinese monastery. Image credit: @kmspks via Instagram. Situated in Bishan, Bright Hill Temple (more commonly referred to by elderly folks as “Kong Meng San Phor Kark See Monastery”, the dialect name) is the largest Buddhist temple in Singapore.
- Jurong Lake Gardens lalang field – Korean nature parks in Autumn. Lalang fields are a hotspot for wedding photoshoots, with many couples flocking to Korean nature parks in Autumn so they can frolic through a sea of dainty lalang grass.
- Wessex Estate & Chelsea Lodge – Old-timey European architecture. Wessex Estate. Image credit: Joshua Tsu via Google Maps. We’re all familiar with what a typical Singaporean HDB or condo building looks like, so driving past Buona Vista’s Wessex Estate and Tanjong Katong’s Chelsea Lodge might jolt you into thinking you’ve teleported onto the set of Sherlock Holmes.
- The Animal Resort – secret kampong farm deep in Seletar. We’re all familiar with big names like Jurong Bird Park and Singapore Zoo, but this laidback farm in Jalan Kayu is where you really get to come close with the animals.
- Little Island Brewing Co – microbrewery with self-serve beer on tap. Right on the edges of the island at Changi Village is one of Singapore’s few microbreweries, Little Island Brewing Co.
- Aquarium Iwarna – overnight prawning in the laidback countryside. Aquarium Iwarna in Pasir Ris Farmway is old-school and quiet, and sure is nostalgic.
- Soek Seng 1954 Bicycle Cafe – hidden eatery beside the Seletar airport runway. Bright and whimsical, the Soek Seng 1954 Bicycle Cafe is right beside the Seletar Airport runway, so it’s definitely not something you’ll discover through plain serendipity.
- Ocean Drive. The drive into Sentosa is always a treat, flanked as you are by the stunning turquoise waters of the sea on the Sentosa Causeway. Once you're in, make your way to Ocean Drive and Ocean Way where you can marvel at the sprawling houses and estates through the windows of your car.
- Lim Chu Kang Road. Cruise along the historic Lim Chu Kang Road, which has been gazetted as one of five Heritage Roads in Singapore – joined by Arcadia Road, Mount Pleasant Road, Mandai Road, and South Buona Vista Road.
- Mount Faber. We may not have mountain roads boasting stunning views, but driving up Mount Faber comes close. Weave through the peaceful, narrow winding roads framed by lush greenery which makes you forget you're in Singapore – even for a few minutes.
- Mandai Road. This long and beautiful road in the West makes for an incredibly relaxing drive. Constructed in 1855, Mandai Road is one of Singapore's heritage roads that used to link agricultural villages in the area.

It was during their Twitter chat about road trips that we realized, “wow, we’ve driven most of the ultimate road trip destinations on earth!” So without further adieu, let’s take a look at road trips around the world that we have done by country or continent.
There’s no doubt about it, the United States is one of the best road trip destinations in the world. Many of the best road trips in the world are located right in the United States.We’ve been lucky enough to drive along most of the East and West Coasts of the country and here are a few of our favorite routes.
Canada is our favourite country for road tripping and in our humble opinion, the best road trips in the world are located in our home country. From both coasts to the far north, through high altitude of the Rocky Mountains and along the shore, you will see it all in Canada.
5. Wild Atlantic Way – Ireland
It’s the longest Coastal Route in the World and Ireland has done an incredible job at marketing it as the best road trips on earth. During our many trips around Ireland, The Wild Atlantic Way is a standout. Starting in Dublin, we made a b-line for the west coast of Southwest coast of Ireland from Cork to the Inishowen Peninsula in Donegal. The North Coast 500 is Scotland’s answer to America’s Route 66. With legendary castles, extraordinary coastal scenery, and famous whisky distilleries lining the winding single track lanes, the North Coast 500 is the ultimate drive for travel lovers. 17. Amalfi Coast – Italy
I think the best road trip in Europe is theAmalfi Coast. We fell in love with that drive from Sorrento to Ravello. There is a reason this drive along the most stunning sea cliffs on earth has been used in so many movies. The towns and lookouts along the coast are something out of a fairytale. The best way to get around New Zealandis by driving independently. We traveled the South Island two ways, on a bus with the Flying Kiwi which was affordable and a great way to see the highlights, but once we took more time to explore with our own camper van, that’s when the true road trip in New Zealand began. Australia is an amazing country to take a driving tour. The Great Ocean Road is probably the most scenic road trip in the country. The route is more than 600km (400 miles) and drives along sea cliffs, jungles, and out to amazing beaches. Some of the top beaches for surfing are located along this route.
