Peter Loew [Nicholas Cage] is a successful business executive but he's having difficulty with his personal relationships and so he consults with a psychologist, Dr Glaser [Elizabeth Ashley]. Then Loew meets Rachel [Jennifer Beals], a vampire.
A frustrated Manhattan literary editor, Peter Loew (Cage), meets a mysterious woman (Beals). During a passionate night of lovemaking, the woman bites him on the neck, drawing blood. When she disappears the next morning, Peter becomes convinced that she was a vampire and that's he's become one too.
