Original title: I Want What I Want. Synopsis: A 20-something son of a military officer feels like a woman trapped in a man's body. When he can't hide it anymore he has a fallout with his ladies man father and leaves home.
While John Dexter is not a great director (his theatrical roots limit him), I Want What I Want is an early and surprisingly progressive look at transgenderism through the story of an English person trying to be themselves in a bourgeois, repressive society.
