El 24 de diciembre de 1994, cuatro terroristas del GIA secuestran en Argel un Airbus A300 de Air France con 227 pasajeros a bordo. El incidente terminó en el aeropuerto de Marignane, cerca de Marsella, gracias al asalto de las fuerzas especiales, que fue transmitido en directo por televisión.
El asalto (L'Assaut en V.O.) es una película de acción francesa de 2010 dirigida y escrita por Julien Leclercq. El film está basado en el secuestro del vuelo 8969 de Air France que tuvo lugar en 1994 en Argel por parte de terroristas del GIA. [1]
