The working title of this film was Girl in the Cage. Although a June 1955 Hollywood Reporter item adds Jerry Chiat, Lynn Smith and Dick Winters to the cast, their appearance in the final film has not been confirmed. Running Wild marked the feature film debut of John Saxon.
