Danny, a lover of animals who hopes to be a veterinarian when he grows up, runs an amateur dog and cat hospital at his house. With his dog Rusty always at his side, Danny shows off his skills to Dr. Antonia "Toni" Cordell, a new veterinarian in town, and she is so impressed by his devotion that she hires him as her assistant.

The fifth film in the Columbia series has Huge Mitchell (John Litel) running for Mayor while at the same time trying to break his son Danny (Ted Donaldson) of lying. Soon Danny's lies get out and a bad rumor comes from it, which could cause his father's chance of being elected.
