The social icon or emoji of ॐ symbolizes the sound Om, which is sacred. In Sanskrit, the vowels a and u together sound like o, to make the sound of Om, which is "a-u-m."
The Om sound is the primordial sound and is called the Shabda-Brahman (Brahman as sound). In Hinduism, Om is one of the most important spiritual sounds. Om refers to Atman (soul, self within) and Brahman (ultimate reality, entirety of the universe, truth, divine, supreme spirit, cosmic principles, knowledge).
All those meanings are attributed to Om, so Om is the seed of the whole creation; Om is the sound of creation. In Bible too, it is said, ‘In the beginning there was a word and the word was with God and the word was God’. That is Om. There they don’t say which word; the word is Om.
