Nov 4, 2009 · This is Lyn Cassady ( George Clooney ), said to be the best of the New Earth trainees. Wilton pumps him and learns of an acidhead Vietnam veteran named Bill Django ( Jeff Bridges ), who sold the Army the notion of fighting men who could transcend physical limitations.
"The men who stare at goats" charts the history of a secret US Army unit founded in 1979, the First Earth Battalion. The program uncovers the truth about this unit's involvement with paranormal activities that defy accepted military practice, including mind reading and out of body experiences.
Synopsis. The movie opens with Brigadier General Dean Hopgood (Stephen Lang) staring intently at his wall from behind his desk. He tells his secretary that he will be going into the next room and charges into his wall, hoping to phase through it. He hits the wall hard and says shit.
