Shante Scott Franklin (born April 4, 1981), better known by his stage name Currensy (stylized as Curren$y), is an American rapper. Born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana , he was signed to hip hop labels such as Cash Money and Young Money before founding his own label Jet Life Recordings , in 2011.
