Guitarist Eddie Muñoz joined the group during the recording of the EP. but did not play on it. [citation needed] (The band's name came from a tweaking of "plimsoll", a type of shoe popular in the UK and favoured by The Beatles.) Danny Holloway produced the Zero Hour EP and managed the group.

Founders Jesse Sublett and Eddie Munoz started played together in the glam blues band Jelly Roll from 1975 to 1977 before recruiting Billy Blackmon and forming the initial lineup of The Skunks.
Profile: American rock guitarist. Eddie Muñoz formed hard rock/blues band Jellyroll with Jesse Sublett in Austin, Texas in 1975. The pair would go on to form punk band the Skunks in mid-1977. Muñoz left the group in 1979, moving on to Los Angeles where he joined power pop group The Plimsouls.
